Established in 1993, JH Consulting is a dynamic team of associates with a comprehensive skills and knowledge base, providing a range of high quality consultancy services for organisations in the public, private and third sectors. We have in depth experience of working in the fields of learning, skills, employment and community development

Translating national policy and regional strategy into front line delivery is a key feature of our work. We have a particular specialism in helping organisations to integrate skills, employment and other key services to meet the needs of individuals and employers more effectively.

  • Realistic and achievable planning at all levels, for a range of clients from small community organisations to strategic funding bodies including the Learning and Skills Council, Regional Development Agencies, Jobcentre Plus and Local Authorities.

  • We are particularly skilled in supporting the development of partnerships and consortia for integrated service planning, enabling services to be purchased and delivered more effectively and coherently.
  • Helping service providers to develop business plans and programmes that meet their users’ needs and maximise opportunities to link with strategies.  Sustainability and succession planning are key to this work.

  • Financial and funding strategies as well as support to tender for funding.  This includes offering ‘critical friend’ advice about the viability of ideas and proposals, and training on organisational and business development.
  • Carrying out evaluations of the impact and effectiveness of programmes, including complex partnership projects.  Our succinct evaluation reports include practical next steps to help projects move forward.  We also devise evaluation frameworks to measure impact and success, and deliver evaluation training to staff.

  • Producing readable ‘evidence reports’ that summarise complex research information to underpin proposals and plans, as well as providing rationales for strategic planning that can be communicated to a wide audience.
