JH Consulting is supporting the work of the London Multi Agency Skills Team. MAST is a unique regional model for collaboration between London Jobcentre Plus, the London Development Agency, London Region Learning and Skills Council and other partners. It represents a step change in the way that agencies in the Capital work together, supporting the work of the London Skills and Employment Board and implementing the key messages of the Leitch report.
MAST influences partner investment, planning and delivery to provide a coordinated response that can improve the employability and quality of life of Londoners who have poor skills. It means that the London’s major public investors in skills have a continual dialogue, bringing greater cost effectiveness and impact to addressing skills and employment needs, which in turn helps to tackle some of the root causes of child poverty, and fragmented families and communities. MAST works with significant national and regional developments including the City Strategy Pathfinders, FE Demonstration Pilots and the forthcoming Skills for Jobs programme.
The work began with a focus on Skills for Life – the essential building blocks for all skills. The scope has now broadened, applying the same principles to the wider skills and other support needed to improve employability and inclusion.
The Update documents give an overview of the activity and the progress that has taken place since the work began in 2005. These and other key documents can be viewed and downloaded by clicking on them below. This page will be kept regularly updated with new and revised documents.
